Working in partnership Print E-mail

23/01/2012

Well a belated happy new year one and all. 2012 has started off very busy with lots of people joining my baby massage class at both Falconwood and Sidcup. Both classes are full and bustling. Lots of conversation about births, feeding and baby's sleep patterns over tea and biscuits which helps support Mum's in need of new ideas. I am pleased to say that I have a few returning Mum's too with their second babies which is so nice to see them again and meet the new addition. Coping with anothe child  is a hot topic too with these Mum's telling others how they do. Mainly being more organised with the second one fitting around the older one's activities. Having additional family help is always a bonus.

Launch of 'new' Sidcup baby massage class Print E-mail

The Sidcup class started on Tuesday 27 September and has been a success since day one with lots of Mum's and their babies not only from the immediate area but further afield coming along. The Pavilion is in such a nice setting, set off from the road surronded by greenery and a lovely garden to look out on it's makes it a peaceful place to run the classes. Parking is available on Burnt Oak Lane on the single yellow lines as there is no restrictions at that time which make is easy to park and walk down to the pavilion without worry.

The class is based on the same format as my Falconwood class with us massaging the babies for half of the class and then having a well deserved cup of tea or coffee and a good catch up and chat with the other Mum's.

Come along and try out the class, the first one is free with no obligation to start a course.

Call me now to book your taster class on 07967 663 257

Look forward to seeing you sometime soon

'Playing with Sounds' workshops Print E-mail

It's started, I am excited to say. My workshops are underway at Falconwood Community Centre. Last week saw eight three and four year olds thoroughly enjoy the 'Rhythm and Rhyme' - let's listen session I put on. It consisted of listening games using my listening box full of various sounds, using the musical instruments and playing some listening games using bean bags and actions. The session was rounded off by the children making their own 'discovery bottles'. The children left happily shaking and moving their new instruments

Things have been busy for what is nearly the first half of the year gone. Baby massage has had a very busy start to the year with both classes being full to the brim. Lots of mum's and babies bonding and enjoying some quality one to one time together. Singing the various songs in the session is also a lovely way of Mum's communicating with their young babies aswell as an enjoyable activity to share together for years to come.

Sing and Story has seen us sharing lots of favorite songs each week

A very happy new year to you!

It's been a long while since I blogged on here and have a new class to tell you all about. Sing and Story started in November last year due to not only a long love of mine of singing with children but parents in my baby massage classes have asked what else I do. I was wanting to start something to follow on from baby massage so I was still able to see the children grow and learn and finally it has been born! It is aimed at babies from six months to walking, however I have some sixteen month olds in my class so am flexible.

It has been a while since I last blogged, I have started another class since September as there was alot of Mum's wanting to bring their babie's along and my Thursday class was full. This has proved beneficial to parents who wish to switch days some weeks.

It was a lovely class today, we had a new baby join us who was just seven weeks old.  It is wonderful that babies are coming to the class a bit younger as the average age of joining was about ten weeks up until recently.

Today's class discussion was interesting as we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves once again as there were three new people join the group with their babies. I try to do this everytime several new people join as I feel this enables everyone to discuss and share parenting issues therefore getting valuable advice and tips from other Mum's. It also brings us together as a group of Mum's. Thank you for taking part in this and giving your thoughts and opinions that could help others in ther day to day care of their little ones. As a reminder here are some of the topics that were discussed...
