A very happy new year to you!

It's been a long while since I blogged on here and have a new class to tell you all about. Sing and Story started in November last year due to not only a long love of mine of singing with children but parents in my baby massage classes have asked what else I do. I was wanting to start something to follow on from baby massage so I was still able to see the children grow and learn and finally it has been born! It is aimed at babies from six months to walking, however I have some sixteen month olds in my class so am flexible.

A combination of singing nursery and action rhymes using finger puppets allow for the babies and Mum's to really connect with the songs and in time learn them. The bubbles and balls part is very popular with the babies as they are captivated by the bubbles as they rain down on them popping all over the place. For the majority of the babies it is the first time they have experienced a parachute so the simple up and down motion of the paracute over their heads is enough for them to be transfixed on it.The storytime as the end has some babies really engaged and other crawling off but that's fine as am not expecting then to sit tight, they are too small. However books are well loved by the majority of children and I feel it is good for them to see them used, shared and enjoyed by adults, hence why I wanted to add it to the class.

The class is completed by the babies being able to enjoy exploring the treasure baskets if they are still a  seated baby or the heuristic play if they a moving baby. This all while the Mum's enjoy a well deserved cup of tea and a good chat with the other Mum's. This is something I was keen to follow on in my other classes as Mum's say how much they like the cuppa and biscuits at the end.

It has been a really positive start to the classes with lots of Mum's coming to try out, as like my baby massage classes the first one is free. There is also a few Mum's coming along that have not been to my baby massage so that's nice. It's lovely to have grandparents and dad's in the class too as they are always very welcome.
